July 23, 2026 - A technology project is a terrific time to enhance data governance and data intelligence efforts. Whether your project is large or small - switching solutions, system migration, move to SaaS, integration, implementing AI, or other new product implementation such as a new CRM - it's the perfect time to enhance your data governance efforts. Link the data requirements of your project to your data governance efforts. This month, IData is spotlighting technology projects and their increased success due to linkage with data governance and data intelligence. This spotlight features a web page of educational resources (blog posts, videos, and recorded webinars) around the topic of technology projects.

Blog posts in the spotlight include those on integration and migration to SaaS projects. Videos in the spotlight include those on "Challenges, Opportunities and ROI During an ERP Migration" as well as one about "Moving to SaaS Project Management Challenges & Potential Negative Outcomes". We have done some webinars on this as well and have recordings of sessions such as "Implementing Data Governance During a Data Warehousing Project" and "Best Practices for Leveraging Data Governance During Major ERP Implementations".

June 6, 2025 - IData Inc., a leader in data governance, is pleased to announce that this month's spotlight is on Data-Related Requests which are an important component of data governance (also known as data intelligence). Requests vary including those for determining if a certain report exists, asking for a new report, requesting a new business glossary entry, modifying a data policy, and adding an item to a reference data list. And these requests can come from different groups such as internal to the organization requestors (employees or students if at a higher education institution) or external to the organization requestors (government agencies or vendors). IData has created a data requests resources page located at https://www.datacookbook.com/data-requests-spotlight containing blog posts, videos, and recorded webinars. These resources include those on the life cycle of data and report requests, types of requests, who is requesting the data, what happens after a data request, and best practices. Be sure to check out these resources.
